Crew role
STEM Program Director
SquadFlight is building a STEM education program around drone flight, electronics, and FPV technology, and we're looking for a STEM Program Director to lead it. This role sits at the intersection of two goals: generating revenue through paid classes and camps, and building community and visibility for SquadFlight. Both matter equally — this isn't a "just teach the kids" role or a "just market the brand" role, it's both. The scope of curriculum ownership is still being defined, and we're open to shaping it around the right candidate: if you come in with existing STEM/drone curriculum experience, you may help design the program from scratch; if you're more of a strong program-runner, you may focus on delivering and refining a curriculum we build together early on. Either way, expect to have real input into what this program becomes.
About the Role
What You'll Do
- Design and/or deliver a STEM curriculum centered on drones, electronics, and FPV technology, appropriate for the program's target age group(s) Grades 7-12
- Plan and run paid classes, after-school programs, camps, or workshops that generate revenue for SquadFlight
- Represent SquadFlight in community-facing and marketing contexts — schools, parks, events, partner organizations — as a visible face of the program
- Track program performance against both business goals (enrollment, revenue) and community/brand goals (visibility, partnerships, reputation)
- Help define what "success" looks like for the program as it's still being shaped
What We're Looking For
- Experience with STEM education, curriculum design, or youth program instruction (drone/robotics/electronics background a strong plus)
- Comfort operating with some ambiguity — this program is still being defined, and you'll help define it
- Strong communication skills for both classroom/instructional settings and external-facing community/marketing contexts
- Entrepreneurial mindset: comfortable owning outcomes tied to both revenue and reputation
Role Details
- Reports to: Founder
- Type: Contract to start transition to full time W2
- Curriculum scope: To be finalized with the right candidate — build-from-scratch or deliver-and-refine, depending on your background
