Drone Technician — TinyWhoop Fleet Maintenance
SquadFlight is looking for a hands-on, dependable Drone Technician to keep our TinyWhoop fleet (10–30 drones) Ready-To-Fly for regular weekly flying sessions. This is a maintenance and readiness role first — we're looking for someone we can count on to show up and get the job done, not necessarily someone who already knows every quirk of our fleet on day one. If you're reliable and willing to learn, we'll train you on the rest. Down the line, this role may expand to include customer drone repairs as that side of the business grows.

What You'll Do
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair TinyWhoops between and during weekly sessions (frames, motors, props, flight controllers, batteries, basic soldering)
- Maintain a consistent Ready-To-Fly standard across the entire fleet — no drone sits broken longer than necessary
- Track fleet condition and flag recurring issues or parts that need replacing
- Manage a basic parts/spares inventory so repairs aren't held up by missing components
- Be present and available for scheduled weekly sessions, rain or shine
- (Future scope) Take on customer-facing drone repair requests as bandwidth allows
What We're Looking For
- Reliability and availability above all else — this role lives or dies on someone showing up consistently and following through
- A trainable mindset: comfortable learning our specific repair standards and fleet setup, even without prior professional experience
- Basic comfort with small electronics, soldering, or hands-on tinkering is a plus, but not a hard requirement
- Ability to work independently once trained, and to flag problems before they become bigger ones
- A genuine interest in drones/FPV/RC helps, but isn't required
Role Details
- Type: Part-time or 1099 contractor (flexible depending on fit)
- Commitment: Regular weekly sessions, plus time for maintenance between sessions
- Growth path: Potential to expand into customer repair work as SquadFlight's service offerings grow
